Sash Window Restoration In Martock, Somerset
This sash window in Martock had been completely sealed shut for over 12 years.
The original cords and weights were missing, and the sashes had effectively been locked in place. The window couldn't be opened at all and had been left unopened for years.
Rather than replacing it we carried out a full restoration to bring it back into working order while keeping the original features intact.
Sash window before restoration

Before work began the sash was completely stuck and had not been opened in years and non functional. The internal weight pockets were full of debris and the balance system had failed entirely preventing the window from functioning.
Work carried out:
-
New pulleys installed
-
New sash cords fitted
-
New weights added
-
Full re-balancing
-
Minor timber repairs
-
Primed and painted in white
-
Draught proofing
-
New window furniture
